The public holidays over Easter this year fall on Good Friday 22 April, Easter Monday 25 April. Easter Sunday is not a public holiday for the purposes of the Holidays Act. Easter Monday is a public holiday as is also ANZAC Day that falls on the same day as Easter Monday however, both public holidays are observed on the same day as one public holiday.

Recently I had the opportunity to have dinner at The Gladstone Inn, a small country hotel in rural Wairarapa. This place was far from dead and highlights what can be done in any country hotel.
