Online Learning Modules

Hospitality New Zealand members can access a range of Online Learning Modules created by Intuto which guide you through a number of hospitality focused topics.

Topics include: Health and Safety, Food Control Plans and Expectations and Culture of Chinese Guests.

Licence Controller Qualifications

A Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ) must be held by people applying for or renewing their General Manager's certificate.

The LCQ covers two unit standards. Successfully completing these unit standards demonstrates knowledge of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act (2012) and its implications for licensed premises, and knowledge of host responsibility requirements as a duty manager of licensed premises.

ServiceIQ Courses and Qualifications

ServiceIQ offer a range of online courses based on the same New Zealand standards and including some of the same material as New Zealand qualifications taught offline.

Crowd Controllers Training

Hospitality New Zealand has partnered with the New Zealand Security Association to offer a programme that delivers this qualification nationally for our members and their staff.

The course is made up of an online module followed by two one-day courses held a week apart with a workbook to complete in between.

Hospitality and Turning Tables presents a three hour workshop is suitable for senior staff and those new to management. This workshop offers tips and tricks for training your team to handle the difficult situations of intoxication and customer complaints
 

'Getting the best out of beef and lamb on your menu' seminar series

This seminar series, delivered by NZ Chefs will be all about getting the best out of beef and lamb on restaurant menus. Attendees will receive a booklet of tips and recipes, designed to assist chefs and kitchen staff in the preparation and presentation of modern beef and lamb dishes focusing on secondary cuts and cooking methods.
 

Food costing and menu engineering seminar

Hospitality NZ and the NZ Chefs Association present a national seminar series on kitchen management and how to make the most out of your kitchen. This seminar is suitable for restaurant, bar and cafe managers, chefs and cooks.

The six pillars of cashflow seminars

Hospitality NZ and Crowe Horwath present a national seminar series on strategies for business owners wanting to manage and grow the flow of cash through their business and avoid cashflow issues before they become a problem. This seminar is suitable for anyone that looks after the finances of your business.
