Leadership 101 – Leadership workshop series

Becoming a leader of a diverse team of staff can be quite a daunting experience for many people. This full day workshop aims to provide you with a variety of tools and ideas to make the “step up” a little easier and a whole lot more fun! The focus of the day will be on the three P’s – People, Process and Performance, and how to create a solid foundation for you, your team and for the business.

Performance Management - From calm to chaos

Understanding poor performance and how to handle it effectively. This three-hour workshop designed for owners, managers and supervisors will assist you to not only identify, understand and deal with poor performance within your team but also give you some ideas to put in place to prevent performance issues from developing in the first place. 

Talking Teams - Leadership workshop series

This workshop is suitable for upcoming or experienced leaders who want to know how to create a successful and cohesive team culture in the workplace. This is our Training Academy's autumn workshop series that starts on 7 March to 3 May 2017.

Crowd Controller Training Course

Hospitality NZ and the NZ Security Association have partnered up to offer a two day course that delivers this qualification nationally for all hospitality businesses to meet the new training requirements.


To Serve or Not to Serve

This workshop aims to provide staff with the knowledge and skills to understand when to say yes and perhaps more importantly when to say no! It includes information on the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, how to identify minors and intoxication, the role the Police play in reducing alcohol issues and some great tools like "Serve Wise" which can be utilised back in their workplace.

To understand the principles of marketing and how these relate to your staff as sales people. Helpful tips and tricks will encourage your staff to enhance their customer service and sales skills and therefore help increase the businesses bottom line.

How to have those difficult conversations workshops

Suitable for existing and upcoming leaders this smart leadership workshop provides various leadership styles how to keep your team motivated and engaged. Learn how to handle sticky situations and discuss how to have successful difficult conversations. This is an excellent follow on session from the recent Performance Management workshops.

'Getting the best out of beef and lamb on your menu' seminar series

This seminar series, delivered by NZ Chefs will be all about getting the best out of beef and lamb on restaurant menus. Attendees will receive a booklet of tips and recipes, designed to assist chefs and kitchen staff in the preparation and presentation of modern beef and lamb dishes focusing on secondary cuts and cooking methods.


Food costing and menu engineering seminar

Hospitality NZ and the NZ Chefs Association present a national seminar series on kitchen management and how to make the most out of your kitchen. This seminar is suitable for restaurant, bar and cafe managers, chefs and cooks.


The six pillars of cashflow seminars

Hospitality NZ and Crowe Horwath present a national seminar series on strategies for business owners wanting to manage and grow the flow of cash through their business and avoid cashflow issues before they become a problem.
