It feels like coming full circle for Raewyn, who left native Singapore for Wellington to embark on the then new Bachelor of Tourism and Services Management at Victoria University of Wellington. Having worked as front of house in Singapore, she enjoyed it thoroughly and had wanted to make a career of it. On arrival, the University announced they were dropping the services management part of the degree. It was then coincidental that Raewyn then went on to a post graduate degree in tourism and subsequently enjoyed a varied career in tourism research at Victoria University of Wellington, tourism marketing at Positively Wellington Tourism and Tourism New Zealand, before finding a niche in cruise advocacy at Cruise New Zealand.
Having spent the last eight years managing Cruise New Zealand, Raewyn understands membership organisations, and brings to Hospitality NZ a strong desire to find solutions and demand the best outcomes for her members.
With a feisty 6-year old daughter and a cheeky 4-year old son in tow, Raewyn and her husband enjoy traipsing around Wellington region (and travelling where finances and time allow), exposing their children to learn more about the world we live in. Like any good Singaporean, Raewyn also enjoys a good bargain and good food.
